McCartney To Open Rock in Rio, in Portugal!

The Beatle will kick off Lisbon's Rock in Rio Festival on May 28, marking his first performance in the Portuguese city.

Sir Paul has give the thumbs up to a European tour this summer that will include his headlining appearance at Glastonbury and this performance at Rock in Rio 2004.

“Touring really has been a lot of fun for us and the audiences have been great,” said McCartney after his US tour. “So why stop now? I’m looking forward to playing and to visiting some new places.”

European rock fans will be treated to a wide range of acts including Metallica, Guns and Roses, Britney Spears and Sting!

Rock in Rio 2004 happens 28 May to 6 June at Bela Vista Park.
