T-break Looking for Unsigned Talent
John Bownas - 20 February 2004
T-break Time 2004
Are you a talented Scot (no oxymoron gags please, we got into enough trouble when we mentioned how many Scousers were nicked at Glastonbury the other year, Ed.) - or at the very least are you based in Scotland - with an eye on a place on the T in The Park bill for 2004? Well if you are unsigned and gagging for a slice of the pie then be aware that T-break 2004 is now looking for entries. And if you are not musically inclined but you can take great pictures or write staggering excellent reviews then T-break is also offering you the chance of being part of the official media coverage team.
Entering couldn't be easier. All you need to do is download an entry form from www.redt.co.uk/tbreak, fill it out and put it in the post along with your demo's, live reviews or photography to arrive no later than 22nd March 2004. Simple!
Showcases will be taking place at both King Tut's and the Liquid Room this year, with 4 consecutive nights at each. The 6th May until 9th May sees T Break at the Liquid Room and the 10th May until 13th May will see T Break at King Tut's.
George Kyle, sponsorship manager with Tennent's Lager said: "Since T Break started back in 1996, we've seen and heard some amazing talent coming through to play both the showcases and the stage. The buzz around new music in Scotland is phenomenal just now..."
Over the last 8 years the best new artists in Scotland have been sending in their demo tapes, with some now familiar names having played the showcases. Bands like Biffy Clyro, Cosmic Rough Riders, The Grim Northern Social, and Dogs Die in Hot Cars (to name but a few) have all been involved with T Break.
