According to Scottish newspaper The
Daily Record, Dave Grohl's Grammy-winning band are in negotiations to make it a hat trick after performing
at the festival in 2002 and headlining in 2005.
In the article published today, a band insider said: "The
Foo Fighters will be
in the UK next July and are in talks with promoters about a string of key shows that will remind fans what they have been
missing since they last played in the UK.
"T in the Park is in the frame, though there will also be the temptation
to try to get the band to stage a major stadium date in their own right in Scotland, if promoters feel there is the market
for it.
"Dave and the lads enjoyed playing the Scottish festival on their previous visits, though it may
be some time before the organisers will be ready to confirm."
As
things stand, Foo
Fighters only have two dates confirmed in the UK for next year, they are set to headliner the Milton
Keynes Bowl on the 2 and 3 July.
The article also claims that Geoff
Ellis, chief executive of T in the Park promoters DF Concerts, wants Biffy
Clyro to headline,
The Scottish band will be supporting the Foo Fighters for both Milton Keynes shows.
T In The Park 2011 will take place from 8-10 July
at Balado Park near Kinross, Scotland.
