Take That will not play Glastonbury Festival 2011

Band rule themselves out amidst rumours

The band, whose reformation was completed this week with the announcement that Robbie Williams had rejoined, had been rumoured for a slot at the legendary event.

However, the group themselves have denied the claims and will not be adding to their European tour with a Glastonbury appearance.

When asked by Scott Mills on his BBC Radio 1 show about the rumour they might play, Gary Barlow responded, “No we're not.”

Mark Owen voiced doubts about the technicalities of putting on their stage show at a festival. “I love going as a spectator, I've been a few times,” he said. “We have a big production, we have a big show, I don't think we could put our stage in there, I don't think it's possible.

“If we're having a good time we might get on the bus and go down. We can go and take our caravan and watch a few other bands.”

Earlier this week, Take That announced a huge stadium and arena tour set to take place from May to July 2011.

U2, Prince, Coldplay and Beyonce are rumoured for the Glastonbury Festival line-up.

All the Glastonbury Festival tickets have sold out.Glastonbury registration has re-opened for those hoping to buy resale passes next Spring.

A limited number of tickets should go on sale around April or May next year.

National Express have been unveiled as one of the official coach partners of the Glastonbury Festival.



More festival-goers are travelling by coach to events because of its green credentials, it saves money on car parking and the coach drops ticket-holders closer to the campsite than any other mode of transport.
