Festival rumours from the Godfather of British Festivals...

In what we have heard was a very candid discussion Micheal Eavis apparently dropped a few names in regards to the Glastonbury Festival line-up this year. Although in the past Micheal has been guilty of sowing some quite blatant disinformation about acts in advance of the official line-up announcement there is a certain ring of truth about his comments from last night. If our source is to be believed then Glastonbury festival-goers will this year be able to catch sets by Paul McCartney and James Brown, as well as possibly seeing Oasis and The Strokes.

Elsewhere, debate is raging as to whether or not Eavis also hinted that Bowie could be headlining at V Festival (yet another 2004 festival outing for the perennial thin white Duke of prog-pop?) and that the Carling Weekend: Reading & Leeds would see performances by both The Brit-tastic Darkness and the White Stripes (which we already knew!). Efestivals claim that he did, but this has been contradicted by others who were actually at the event.
