As previously announced, this year's Glastonbury Ticket Arrangements will see unprecedented moves to eradicate the festival's infamous touts. In addition to these original precautions Michael Eavis has now taken the controversial measure of only allowing Debit Card bookings for festival tickets.
The Galsto boss said on Thursday, " I have decided as a further measure to address the problem of touts, that the Festival will not accept Credit Cards - only Debit Cards. By announcing this change now, people have plenty of time to arrange to pay from a debit account."
Eavis was keen to acknowledge the inconvenience this may cause those punters forced to rush out and apply for a Debit Card, while also stating that the move will actually gaurantee the purchaser £2 saving in booking fee.
Tickets will go on sale at 8 pm on 1st April 2004, and are limited to 2 per person.
Details of how personalised tickets will be checked on site are being kept a secret until they are sent out in the post.
