V Festival organisers have warned fans not to buy festival passes from unofficial websites.

With V Festival 2011 presale tickets already sold out, a number of fake sites are claiming to have passes to next year’s event.

Naturally, festival bosses are keen to get the word out that these are scam sites and fans should only buy from official outlets.

Using their Twitter account, organisers tweeted: “IMPORTANT NOTICE: DO NOT PURCHASE TICKETS FROM vfestival2011tickets . c o m - This is a scam website.”

V Festival 2011 tickets are set to go on sale in March 2011.

Virtual Festivals will have official links to buy passes when they go on sale.

V Festival 2011 Chelmsford will take place at Hylands Park in Essex, while V Festival 2011 Staffordshire is set to return to Weston Park in Staffordshire.

Both legs of the festival take place over the same weekend and share the same line up. The V Festival 2011 dates are 20-21 August.
