The Download 2004 Lowdown!
After last
year's explosive debut (which only featured a secret gig by Metallica!),
Download Festival is back with a vengeance, and promises to be even bigger and
better this year. Metallica
are back, and are assisted on headlining duty, by
Linkin Park.
This year's festival returns to Donington for 2 days of fully-loaded noise from a bunch of the biggest names in rock, on Saturday June 5th and Sunday June 6th. For the latest Download Festival news delivered direct to your desktop, make sure you get hold of the 'Download Dog', by clicking here.
What's more,
this year sees the birth of Download Scotland, which will take
place on Wednesday June 2nd and Thursday June 3rd, at the Glasgow Green. The
event will feature four of the biggest bands from the Donington line-up, including
Metallica (June 2nd) and Linkin Park (3rd), and the
excellent facilities that
the festival is known for.
Tickets are available online now (click here), but are not otherwise available until 9am Friday January 30th.
Due to overwhelming demand for 'Campsite Plus' last year, an extra £5 will upgrade you to 'Loaded Camping', which includes hot showers, cloakroom, attended toilets and access to 'Club Kerrang!' in the Download Cafe (limited capacity).
There will also be an 'Upload VIP Package' (click here) available this year, for £200, which buys you:
- Full weekend ticket to the festival
- Private VIP campsite with parking, mains toilets, showers and catering facilities
- Exclusive entrance to festival
- Preferential access to Club Kerrang! at the Download Cafe open til late (limited capacity)
