The Gaslight Anthem fail to win over Reading

Energetic showing won't go down as a classic

'Old White Lincoln' stuck out as a highlight as The Gaslight Anthem played Reading Festival.

The group drew a sizeable crowd but rather went through the motions during their 45 minute set.

'The '59 Sound' was received warmly but numbers like 'American Slang' failed to rouse those in front of them.

"I've never heard of them before, but this hasn't really sold me," said punter Plum, 25 from Sutton, Coldfield.
