The American band managed to entice a big crowd to the tent as they moulded a set from all three of their albums.
"I'm not an asshole and I'm not that asshole," remonstrated singer James Murphy
during the set, "But you're more fun than any crowd we've played to at Reading."
"As
muddy as it is for us, I know it's much more muddy for you," he continued before the group played 'Drunk
Girls'.
They laid down a spiky 'Daft Punk Are Playing At My House', which got those drifting around
the Ostrich Burger stand into the tent, but it still remained a mediocre showing overall.
'All My Friends'
was a drawn out masterpiece of electro which the band made the most of, but the audience weren't as receptive as they
had been earlier in the day.
An elongated version of 'Yeah' just about wrapped up a forgettable performance
from LCD Soundsystem.
