WEATHER WATCH: what to pack for this weekend

Those heading up to see Kings Of Leon and Kasabian at V Festival Staffordshire should have a day of white cloud on Saturday (21 August) with highs of 21°C. The wet weather the site can expect the Friday (20 August) before the gates open will return on the Sunday (22 August) with highs of 22°C.

Tickets-holders travelling to the Essex leg of V Festival are in for similar forecast with white cloud dominating Saturday at a healthy high of 25°C with temperatures only reaching 22°C on Sunday and light rain scattering the site.

Don’t forget your rain mack if you’re spending the weekend at the sold out Beautiful Days as the Escot Park site is expecting light rain for all three days. The warmest day will be Friday with highs of 22°C and this is only expected to drop to 21°C for the last two days.

A sold out Green Man Festival doesn’t look like it’s going to fare much better with grey weather all weekend. Light showers are expected on Friday and Saturday with grey cloud hanging overhead on the Sunday. Temperatures will range between 16°C and 18°C all weekend.

Light rain will be the theme at Bedfordshire’s Rhythm Festival as well with light rain predicted for the weekend. It should stay fairly warm though with highs of 22°C on Friday pushing to 24°C on Saturday and Sunday.

Somerset’s Mendip Hills won’t escape the rain this weekend either with Sunrise Off Grid Camp revellers set to have light rain on Friday and Saturday clearing to grey cloud on Sunday. Temperatures are expected to reach highs of 23°C over the festival weekend.

Swindon Invincible may just have the best weather of the weekend with white cloud and highs of 23°C predicted for this Saturday and light rain Sunday with temperatures expected to reach 22°C.
