Coachella Festival 2004 - Dates Announced

Set in a polo field on the edge of the Mojave Desert, Coachella regularly attracts a spectacular line-up, and often generates as much rumour around its headliners as Glastonbury. This year's event takes place on the 1st and 2nd May...will we see you there

It will be the Pixies' first show since they split in 1993. It is unclear just yet if all four original members will appear, and if any other touring or recording projects are planned for after the festival appearance.

Coachella Festival is the nearest thing the United States has to a European-style music festival, and has become an increasingly popular fixture on the circuit in recent years, especially with UK acts, who have included Oasis, The Prodigy, Primal Scream, Blur, Idlewild and Underworld.

This year's event takes place at the usual venue of Empire Polo Fields, in Indio, California, on Saturday May 1 and Sunday May 2.
