'American artist to headline Glastonbury 2011'
United Kingdom | 11 August 2010
Are Glastonbury Festival-goers to be treated to an American headliner in 2011?
According to Heart West Country Radio producer Joe O’Brien on Twitter, Michael Eavis has said that he’s secured the services of someone he’s wanted for ‘years and yonks’.
He Tweeted:"Michael Eavis tells Heart West Country a "American artist" he's wanted for "years and yonks" is booked to headline Glastonbury 2011."
Early rumours suggest that Prince or Madonna could be in the frame for next June.
Eavis previously said that he’d already booked two headliners and approached U2 to play after they cancelled their show this year.
Glastonbury 2011 registration is open now.
Glastonbury Festival 2011 will take place at Worthy Farm, Pilton in Somerset from 22-26 June.
Glastonbury 2011 tickets are expected to go on sale on 3 October.
