19 die, over 340 injured at Berlin's Love Parade
Stampede leads to crushing in tunnel at festival

United Kingdom | 26 July 2010
Festival-goers were crushed in a tunnel following panic at its entrance, reports the BBC.
The event, which took place in Duisburg, was said to have over one million people in attendance.
An investigation has now been launched by German prosecutors into the crushing with the Guardian
saying that the police have seized a fire service report that had suggested the tunnel should be sealed during the festival.
Speaking about the tragedy, Love Parade organiser Rainer Schaller said: "The Love Parade
has always been a peaceful party, but it will for ever be overshadowed by the accident, so out of respect for the victims
the Love Parade will never take place again."
