Singer Pink rushed to hospital
16 July 2010
Stateside singer-songwriter Pink was ferried to the hospital in Nurnberg, Germany yesterday (15 July) following an unsuccessful piece of stage theatrics.
The artist – renowned for her feisty temper as well as intricate trapeze and high-wire live performances – was halfway through her penultimate song on stage in Nurnberg, Bavaria, when a wire harness sent her crashing into the barricade.
After briefly returning to the stage she told the audience “I’m not sure but I think I might have broken something. . . . I’m very sorry I can’t do the last song, but thanks for coming.”
Fans were relieved when she later remarked on the social networking site Twitter, “nothing’s broken, no fluid in the lungs, just seriously sore.”
It is not yet known whether the accident will force her to cancel her upcoming dates at the Tuborg Festival in St. Petersburg and Slavia Footbal Stadium in Prague on July 18 and July 20 respectively.
