Cheryl Cole V Festival performance cancelled

The pop-princess has pulled out of V fest amid Malaria scare

V Festival has today confirmed that Cheryl Cole will no longer be making an appearance at this year's event.

Organisers have verified that the Girls Aloud singer has cancelled her performance: “V Festival sadly informs fans that Cheryl Cole will no longer be performing at this year's festival. Our thoughts are with Cheryl at this time and we wish her a quick return back to full health.”

Headlining this year’s festival are Kings of Leon and Kasabian, with many other bands confirmed, including Stereophonics, Faithless, The Prodigy and Pet Shop Boys.

V Festival 2010 takes place at Hylands Park in Essex and Weston Park in Staffordshire from 21-22 August.
