Solfest is the plaice for music and moor in Cumbria. Among the Magic Numbers, New Young Pony Club and Alabama 3, there’s plenty of folk and dance, as well as workshops and activities. Take the whole family, I don’t want to carp on any more, it’s only £89 for the weekend.

Shambala Festival is great for those who c-ray-ve a surprise. The line-up is not released until you get to the site, somewhere in Northampton, (find out directions when you buy your ticket). There are some fin-tastic alternative activities, including a saloon bar, a spa and a host of workshops. Don’t mullet over, it’s £109 for the weekend. Nice one mate.
