Eden Sessions cancel Vampire Weekend show
American indie rockers Vampire Weekend's performance at this month's Eden Sessions 2010 has been cancelled, organisers have confirmed.
The four-piece were set be supported by Broken Bells – made up of Danger Mouse (of Gnarls Barkley fame) and lead singer and guitarist for The Shins, James Mercer.
No reason has yet been given as to why the band’s performance has been pulled, but organisers released the following statement on the website:
“We're terribly sorry, but regretfully we have to announce that Vampire Weekend's appearance at this year's Eden Sessions has been cancelled. We will of course refund everyone who bought tickets to this Session.
To arrange your refund please contact the box office on 01726 811972. The closing date for refunds is Thursday 24 June. No refunds will be given after this date.”
The rest of the Eden Sessions proceedings are set to go ahead as planned with Calvin Harris, Annie Mac and Reverend Soundsystem forming a dance extravaganza for 3 July, while Paulo Nutini is to perform with singer-songwriter Martha Wainwright, all in front of the iconic Eden Project biomes.
