The Swedish prog-metal group will headline the Friday (13 August) following the cancellation of Heaven And
Hell whose singer Ronnie Jame Dio passed away earlier this year.
"We're pretty excited
about coming back to play the Bloodstock festival with Opeth," said frontman Mikael Akerfeldt,
"myself and Axe will of course be double-fisting since we gonna cause some havoc with Bloodbath as well. ??
“We got asked to play since Heaven And Hell cancelled and even though we obviously feel that we cannot possibly
match their magic or fill the void, it will be like a personal tribute show to the memory of Ronnie Dio. ??
“So needless to say I'm honoured to play, it will be intimidating and emotional I believe. We'll deliver
as usual of course but yeah, I will be thinking about Dio, that's for sure."
