T in the Park announces Citizen T initiative
Festival-goers urged to do their bit at the event

Branded a "revolution", Citizen T seeks to encourage festival-goers to make a difference at the
event by taking responsibility for their litter, tents and fellow revellers.
There will be a number of challenges,
rewards and events to encourage participation, as well as a special area for Citizen T members at the site.
The
initiative will be represented by a yellow hand logo, the fingers representing the five points of the Citizen T manifesto:
'1. THIS IS OUR FESTIVAL
We pledge allegiance to T in the Park and believe in being good citizens.
2. BIN IT
Rubbish belongs in the bin. We’ll make sure it gets there.
3. A TENT IS FOR LIFE NOT
JUST FOR T
We’ll take it home and re-use it
4. EVERYBODY NEEDS GOOD NEIGHBOURS
We pledge to look
after each other
5. IT’S ALL ABOUT THE T COMMUNITY
Festival staff are here to help. Have fun but stay
safe.'
Anna Meldrum from band Kitty the Lion, who will be performing
on the T-Break stage, was the first to sign up and wore a dress constructed from festival tents to mark the launch.
She said: “Citizen T is such a great idea, as it's all about making T in the Park as enjoyable as possible
for everyone. Hopefully, through this amazingly creative dress, more music fans will be inspired to reuse their tents after
this year’s festival. I'm happy to pledge to the campaign’s manifesto and am incredibly proud to be wearing
this one-off piece - as a Scottish girl, for a Scottish festival - to help spread the word.”
To sign
up, festival-goers need to sign the Citizen T wall and receive a yellow hand stamp. Further details can be found on the T

T In The Park 2010
will take place at Balado Airfield, Perth in Scotland from 9-11 July.
