The Charlatans to headline Wickerman Festival 2010

The Charlatans, instrumental to both the Madchester and later Britpop revolutions, are set to headline the Friday night of this year's Wickerman Festival, organisers revealed this morning (14 May).

The indie rockers, known for their anthem ‘The Only One I Know’, are set to re-release their debut album ‘Some Friendly’ on 17 May.

Also confirmed today were 'hilarious' Welsh rappers and festival favourites Goldie Lookin’ Chain, Tony Christie of Amarillo fame and punk legends THE BUZZCOCKS.

With acts already announced such as Ocean Colour Scene, The Futureheads, The Undertones and The Saw Doctors, this looks set to be one of the biggest years yet for the festival infamous for it’s burning effigy.

Adult weekend tickets with camping and parking are available now priced £85, while children’s tickets (13-15 years) are £42 and the under 12’s go free. Day tickets are also available for the Saturday of the event priced £58.

The Wickerman Festival 2010 is set to take place at East Kirkcarswell Farm near Kirkcudbright, Scotland from 23-24 July.
