Trident reveals Globe Trotting Guide
Following possibly the strangest interview ever!
15 April 2010
Katie P from London was picked from thousands of entrants to take on the momentous challenge of tackling,
writing and filming from 30 festivals in 30 weeks
The Kerrang! journalist
was put through her paces at a manor house in Surrey, where she had to pitch a tent in the dark, prepare a meal as part of
a team, entertain guests at a party, complete a writing task and undergo an intense interview with a panel – all on
a few hours sleep.
Rob da Bank from
Bestival, George Lamb from BBC 6Music and our very own editor Daniel Fahey were
among the judges to select Katie, despite some very tough competition from nine other finalists.
Speaking about
the judge’s choice, Daniel Fahey said: "We chose Katie P because she has what Simon Cowell
would refer to as the ‘X Factor’. She has years of experience in the writing industry, an abundance of endearing
confidence and appealing charm and a gritty festival background that will ready her for any eventuality over the 30 weeks.
I, for one, can’t wait for her first report back!"
Her first assignment will be the International
Music Summit in Ibiza and you can keep up to date on her progress at www.tridentGum.co.uk
