Reading, Leeds Festivals renew secondary ticketing deal
viagogo guarantees secure and safe passes to sold out events

29 March 2010
The landmark agreement, first announced in 2009, combats ticket touts and online scams by providing a safe and secure platform
for the resale of passes.
Tickets for Reading and Leeds will go on sale this
evening at 6.45pm and are expected to sell out in under an hour.
Fans will be able to buy and
sell Reading tickets through viagogo here and Leeds tickets here.
Speaking about the deal, Melvin Benn, Managing Director of Festival
Republic said: "viagogo has helped us all but eliminate the issues that we have had in the past with fans taking
their chances online and being disappointed after ‘buying’ non-existent resale tickets.
“We
are working with viagogo again this year as the only recommended and official ticket exchange for the Reading, Leeds, and
Latitude festivals. If fans use other ticket exchanges or buy from unauthorized agents they risk being defrauded and not
getting their festival tickets.”
viagogo (www.viagogo.co.uk)
is not a primary ticket seller but allows fans to buy and sell tickets in a secure environment.
The site guarantees
the transaction and delivery of tickets so fans who buy will actually get their tickets, and fans who sell will actually get
paid.
viagogo promises that it will not sell a ticket it doesn’t
have.
Ed Parkinson, Director of viagogo UK
added: "We are delighted to be working with Festival Republic again in 2010. We are committed to helping the festival
organisers provide a safe and secure place for their fans to buy and sell tickets and protect them from rogue websites and
online scams.”
