With his parent group on hiatus, the Icelandic singer will be playing material from his upcoming solo album 'Go',
due for release in April.
Speaking about the booking, organiser Rob da Bank
said: "As a massive supporter of Sigur Ros and just as big a fan of Jonsi's solo
album 'Go' this is going to be a very special concert. Jonsi's voice is so incredible - get in the queue for the
Big Top Saturday night now!"
Heaven 17 have also been added to the bill. They will play as part of 'Back To The Phuture' night on
the Thursday (9 September) in the Big Top.
The night of entertainment is
being put on by Wall Of Sound chief Mark Jones, which is set to connect classic dancefloor
smashing synth-pop to today's all-conquering electro sounds.
Speaking about the night, Jones said:"We're delighted to be working together with Rob on a dedicated "Back To The Phuture" night
at Bestival . Together we will be Joining The Dots on electronic music and are all set on making this an unmissable experience."
He joins headliners dance legends The Prodigy as well as British rapper Dizzee Rascal,
and American experimental rockers The Flaming Lips.
Also set to perform are Roxy Music,
Hot Chip, The xx, The Temper Trap and many more.
