Mumford And Sons for Glastonbury Festival 2010

As organisers announce a new late night arena

The rising anti-folk stars, who rose to fame thanks to their debut ‘Sign No More’, will play the Park Stage over the weekend with an exact day to be confirmed.

Michael Eavis let the news slip during a radio interview with Glastonbury FM. When asked what music he likes to listen to, the organiser said: "A band called Mumford And Sons, you might get fed up with of it eventually but I'm still enjoying it, they will be playing up in The Park this year. So that'll be good."

The festival chief also revealed that the late night entertainment is set to have a new arena. He said: "We're [investing] down in the the old Lost Vagueness Fields, now called Shangri-La. We've now got Shangri-La, we've got Trash City, Arcadia, and we've got Section Nine which is a new area.

"So, we're investing heavily into that area down there for entertainment, because that's where people want to be. We're increasing investment into that area by about £200,000."

Tickets for this year's festival are currently sold out, but cancelled passes will be resold on Sunday 11 April from 9am.

To be eligible for the re-sale, festival-goers must register with Glastonbury Festival by Wednesday 31 March.

Standard festival tickets are priced at £185.

There are a limited number of combined coach and festival passes are available from £206.50 for a single and £218.50 return depending on pick-up location.

Glastonbury Festival 2010 will take place at Worthy Farm, Pilton in Somerset from 23-27 June.

U2, Muse and Stevie Wonder will headline with more to be announced.
