Faith No More to headline Dour Festival 2010
De La Soul, The Sonics, Calvin Harris, more to perform
Phil Micallef - 15 March 2010
The San Francisco-based band, fronted by extravagant showman Mike Patton, appeared at several European festivals
last summer after an 11 year exile.
Die-hard fans of their pioneering experimental metal of the late '80s and '90s will certainly be thrilled to see them back on the festival radar.
Iconic US hip-hop trio De La Soul are set to perform and will be celebrating their 20th anniversary, while American 1960s garage rockers The Sonics are another notable name on the bill, as well as French rock group Eiffel.
There is a solid contingent of electro and dance-based acts on offer, including Atari Teenage Riot, Chris Cunningham, Calvin Harris and Simian Mobile Disco.
For dub and reggae fans, London group Dub Pistols should go down a treat along with Inna de Yard All Stars, Third World and Mr Vegas, amongst others.
American thrash/metal/punk rockers Gwar, famous for their elaborate horror film-inspired costumes, will be playing for those who prefer their music several decibels higher, as too will Caliban and Lower Than Atlantis.
