The Prodigy to headline Bestival 2010

The rave crew head up a host of live acts and DJs confirmed for the award winning festival which scooped the Best Medium Festival Award at the 2009 UK Festival Awards.
Speaking
about the news an apparently gleaming and beaming Rob da Bank said: "So, we can finally unveil our Sunday night headliner as Braintree's finest, The Prodigy! Since raving as
a young pup to Charly and Out of Space through to caning their new record on my radio show, The Prodigy have been a massive part of my record collection.
“As far as polishing off the party on Sunday night I can’t
think of a more explosive finale ... and it's gonna be the last we'll see of them for quite a while on our shores
so get in the queue now!"
Bob Marley’s backing band The Wailers
will provide a number of sunshine karaoke moments at the event, with quirky indie group Wild
Beasts, Dub Pistols and Sting’s daughter’s band I Blame Coco unveiled as well.
After years of forum members pestering for him to appear, 80s pop star
Howard Jones will be heading down to the Isle of Wight along with Gentleman’s Dub Club, The Correspondents, Charli XCX and Lissie.
Other live acts confirmed include Our Fold, Holly Kirby, Derwyddon
Dr Gonzo and The Kurves.
Festival bosses have also revealed a number
of DJs including Magda, Audio Bullys, Gilles Peterson and the infamous Don Letts. Arthur Baker, Serge Santiago, Barry Peters and La Roux And Dead Guy are due for sets over the weekend
along with special guest Zane Lowe.
Today’s (Thursday) confirmation join a bill that already boasts Dizzee Rascal,
Hot Chip, Gil Scott-Heron, Flaming Lips and many more.

Following the success of its debut last year, The Afterburner
arena is set to grow and will now include a full live stage. Other new features will include The Castle In The Sky
Bonfire Extravaganza and the brand new Wishing Tree field that will feature the most amazing sculpture
garden.
The Village will also be transformed in to Tomorrow's World envisaging an inspired, sustainable and
green and fun future including a solar powered Bandstand and free solar mobile phone charging and a few regular treats including
the Pub, WI Tent and Farmers Market.

Bestival 2010 will take place at Robin
Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight from 10-12 September.
