Friendly Fires to headline Camp Bestival 2010

The event, which won Best Family Festival at the 2009 UK Festival Awards, is also set to feature performances
from Soft Cell’s Marc Almond, folk stalwart Billy Bragg and The Blockheads.
Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Chas and his Band, rapper Example, The
Wurzels and Hurts have also been confirmed along with Field Music, Lucky
Elephant and Kid Carpet.
Funk group The Apples, Pete and the
Pirates and Chris Wood have been unveiled for live sets while Mr Scruff, William
Orbit and Mark Lamarr will all DJ.
Other people set to take to the decks include
Jack Beats, Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich and dubstep boys Joy Orbison and Jakwob.
Radio 1 tastemaker Annie Mac will also return with her ‘presents…’ series.
Speaking
about the latest announcement, organiser Rob da Bank said: "Camp Bestival's third trip to the
seaside is looking like a right old knees up - Friendly Fires have played almost every Bestival going so I'm delighted to see them coming
to Camp and we've done loads of work on our arts and literary side and to have interview sessions with Andrea Arnold,
Nigel Godrich and DJ Derek is ace. Lots and lots more stuff coming next week… Hold tight!"
Festival
chiefs have also announced much more, including The Hip Hop Shakespeare Company, ‘La Boheme’
performed by OperaUpClose plus a succession of ‘How to…’ interviews with William
Orbit, Nigel Goldrich and DJ Derek.

Tickets are on sale now priced at £145
for a adult weekend pass, £135 for students and £72.50 for 11-17 years. Under
10s go free, but require a ticket.
