The event, which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary, will be headlined by U2 on the Friday (25
June) night, with Eavis announcing that a second headliner had also been booked just before Christmas.
Speaking to Lauren Lavern on BBC 6Music this morning (Monday), the co-organiser suggested more acts that might appear at the festival. "We’ve gotta have Dizzee [Rascal]," Eavis admitted, "I think that’s a given," before adding that Will Young, "might be making an appearance".
But for now it would seem that the team's efforts are focused on capturing a bigger name. “We are working on it full time and we’re trying to get our third headliner at the moment which is quite exciting," said Eavis.
Organisers originally wanted to have an act from every year of the festival performing in 2010 and Eavis suggested that their plan may just be falling into place. "A lot of bands really want to play but because we’ve only got three nights to headline, I think a lot of people are going to be doing secret sets," she said. "There will be a lot of surprises, more than we’ve ever had.
"It’s really interesting booking it because a lot of bands are saying, 'We really want to do it but how about we open the Pyramid Stage rather than close it?' And it’s like, 'That’s a good idea'. There’s quite a lot of stuff going around, so that’s exciting."
Muse are tipped to headline the event with the likes of Fatboy Slim, The Destroyers, Robert Plant and David Celia also rumoured to be appearing.
