Truck festival heads out to America for 2010

United Kingdom United Kingdom | 11 December 2009

The location itself holds significant connotations in the festival world as it was where the infamous Woodstock took place in 1961, something Truck bosses are eager to quantify.

In a press release organisers write: "Woodstock represented what was so powerful about the peace and love hippy movement of the sixties and it showcased some of the most ground breaking musicians of that time (some might say ever).

"TRUCK festival in Oxfordshire has run for 13 years on the same basic principles of independence and ethically minded and cooperative production, with a passion for introducing cutting edge new music as well as a reverential nod back to the classics […] TRUCK was more than a little inspired by that Woodstock movie (and spirit)."

The new event, called Truck America is set to run from 30 April to 2 May, with acts and ticket details to be announced in the near future.

In other Truck news, organisers announced that SuperTrucker tickets are now available. The passes give festival-goers access to both Truck and Wood Festivals in 2010.

The passes are available for £120, saving fans £30.
