Belgium event announces American punks for next year

Rock Werchter organsiers have gone from Pink to punk, with the confirmation of Green Day for next year's festival.

The American trio, famed for tracks like ‘American Idiot’, ‘Basketcase’ and ’21 Guns’, will be performing on the main stage on the Friday (2 July) of the event.

They join the previously announced Rammstein, Pearl Jam and Muse at the Belgium festival.

Organisers have confirmed that tickets will be available from this Saturday (12 December) at 9am.

Four-day early bird passes are priced at 180 EUR before 4 January, but this will go up to 188 EUR after that date.

Tickets will be available here from 9am Saturday.

For four days, the best present-day acts can be seen and heard on two stages. As always, big names and established acts play the Main Stage, the Pyramid Marquee is reserved for upcoming talent, more intimate acts and dance beats.

80,000 festival-goers are expected to attend from all corners of the world.

Rock Werchter 2010 will take place at Werchter, Belgium from 1-4 July.
