Shape the shortlists and determine the winners

Building on the success of the UK Festival Awards, Virtual Festivals Europe has joined forces with YOUROPE to give festival-goers across the continent the opportunity to give their favourite events the recognition they deserve.

In the longlist voting round, fans will be able to determine the events that will make it through to the shortlists stage in four categories: Best Major, Best Medium, Best Small and Best New Festival.

As with the UK model, all voting is weighted on capacity so the smaller festivals have the same chance as winning as the bigger ones.

Then, on Wednesday 16 December, the longlists will be reduced to shortlists, which will include four extra categories for festival-goers to vote on: Best European Festival Line-Up, Best Artist Newcomer, Best Headline Artist and Anthem Of The Year.

A panel or industry experts will decide the shortlists on these extra awards as well as determining winners for YOUROPE Clean N’ Green Award, Artist’s Favourite Festival, Promoter Of The Year and Lifetime Achievement Award.

Voting will close on Wednesday 30 December before the winners are unveiled at the gala ceremony, which takes place on Wednesday 13 January at The Grand Theatre, Eurosonic Noorderslag 2010, Groningen, Netherlands.

You can vote in as many categories as you want, depending how many you've been to and which ones are relevant to you.
