Bestival bags big at the UK Festival Awards 2009

Camp Bestival wins Best Family Festival, Bestival regains Best Medium

It was another night to remember for the Bestival team at the UK Festival Awards this evening (Thursday) as both Bestival and Camp Bestival picked up prizes.

After winning Best New Festival at last year’s event, Camp Bestival took away Best Family Festival, while Bestival regained the Best Medium award for the forth time in five years.

Florence and The Machine, who played both events was also victorious at the ceremony, winning Best Breakthrough Act.

Elsewhere, Lounge On The Farm won its first ever UK Festival Award as organisers of the Kent event took away the Best Line-up gong.

The award was voted for by a panel of judges who determined the winner based on the quality of the bill in relation to the resources available to the promoters.
