A Greener Festival Blog #14

United Kingdom United Kingdom | by Ben Challis | 05 November 2009

Our good friends in mainland Europe, those groovy rockers at Yourope, the festival organisers organisation, have announced the winners of their Green n Clean award - which is the award that promotes environmental good practice, sustainability and carbon reduction in Europe.

The 24 Green n Clean winners from across Europe join the previously announced 37 winners of the Greener Festival Award who are from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe and together these festivals are some of the most environmentally friendly events in the world. All of these festivals have taken the trouble to look at their carbon footprint and are now trying to reduce this, they have looked at their impact on the environment and are trying to minimise this and they are all trying to make themselves and their operations as sustainable as possible.

It's good to see that two of the festivals on Yourope's list- T in the Park in Scotland and Oya Festival in Norway have won both awards - but they are all worthy winners! So take a deep breath, cheer 'hats off to the winners’ and raise your glasses to the winners of the Green n Clean Award:
