This includes two Sydney shows following a ticket cock up that allowed eager festival-goers to buy passes to the festival
12 hours before they were supposed to go on sale, forcing bosses to add a second date.
Speaking about the news,
festival director Ken West said: “Well I guess the recession is officially over. For our first
Big Day Out in January 1992, the first day’s sales were a grand total of 57 tickets. At the time I thought that was
okay. It is unbelievable that over 250,000 tickets would be snapped up in a few days for the 2010 shows.”
Muse will headline Big Day Out (AUS) 2010 which will tour Sydney, Gold Coast,
Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth from 17-31 January.
