Ticket-holders will be able to arrive and wait in the car parks on the Tuesday to prevent a repeat of the traffic jams that
marred the start of the festival in June.
Fans won’t be able to get on site until the festival gates open
on the Wednesday, but bosses have promised portable toilets and stalls to make the wait more bearable.
Speaking
about the move, festival chief Michael Eavis admitted allowing people to wait in their cars would be better
than them, “being lined up by the side of the road for six hours."
As always though, bosses
are urging people to arrive by public transport which, according to Eavis, saves "a hell of a lot of traffic and
saves a lot of space."
Glastonbury Festival 2010
will take place at Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset from 23-27 June.
All the tickets
to the event have sold out, but a limited number of passes are expected to go on sale in the coming weeks due to failed transactions.
