The Human League, The Wombats,
Echo and the Bunnymen, Doves and Super Furry Animals will also perform, revealed
organiser David J Pichilingi in his VF blog.
He wrote: “Just about now we are beginning
to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Everything is coming together and teams in Liverpool and Dubai are burning the
midnight oil to deliver what will be the most amazing winter festival in the sun! Last week we announced our launch party
with the legendary Ian Brown on 1st October. In a little under a week this has nearly sold out!
Now this
week I am really excited to be giving an exclusive on the first batch of names to be playing Dubai Sound City on 5-7 November.
Happy Mondays, The Courteeners, Human League, The Wombats, Echo and the Buynnymen, Doves and Super Furry Animals...
Shaun Ryder will be twisting his
Dubai melons while Phil Oakey gives us some Love Action alongside McCulloch baiting The Killing Moon...
And this
is just a taster!”

Dubai Sound City is a three-day music festival
and music conference, set to launch this November. The event, organised in conjunction with Liverpool Sound City, will see
some of the world's best acts making their Middle East debut across five live-music venues.
The festival will
have live performances from multi-million selling artists and up-and-coming bands, while the after-parties and conferences
will make headlines in their own right. The city's burgeoning local music scene is just as important, and the best local
bands will share stage time with the headliners.
For the inaugural Dubai Sound City, the headliners will perform
at the Irish Village, while other key events are to be spread across some the city's best loved music venues. Award winning
locations such as Chi @ The Lodge, 360º, Alpha, The Warehouse and The Apartment will also be involved.
The
music conference, which will be discussing various topics, including the future of the Middle East market for music, will
take place at Jumeirah Emirates Towers. This established landmark encompasses a fully integrated five star business hotel,
paired with creative meeting and business facilities.
