The singer performed 'You're Wondering Now' and set finale 'Ghost Town' with the 80s ska group before moving on to invade
the stage during Pete Doherty's set in the Virgin Union
tent by kissing and hugging the Babyshambles frontman.
The troubled star, who looked much healthier than she has
in recent years, said very little but she was obviously enjoying herself commenting, "the sun is shining. The Specials are playing. You're very lucky."
There were several lucky fans in The Arena in Staffordshire as well as The Streets asked fans to look at someone they
don't know and tell them that they love them.
"It's not about the music, it's about doing something together,"
said singer Mike Skinner as the crowd played tracks like 'Fit But You Know It', 'Don't Mug Yourself' and
their number one hit 'Dry Your Eyes'.
Elsewhere Elbow drew
a massive crowd for a set that included big tracks 'Leaders Of The Free World', 'Grounds For Divorce' and 'One Day Like This'
as they covered the crowd in white confetti near the end of the set.
V Festival 2009 continues
tonight with sets from Oasis, The Killers and Fatboy Slim.
