The Libertines to play festivals in 2010
'It's going to happen' admits Pete Doherty

19 August 2009
The Babyshambles singer has already set the wheels in motion for reunion shows, telling NME that drummer
Gary Powell and bassist John Hassall are keen to play together again, he just has to convince
songwriting partner Carl Barat.
"It's going to happen, you know," said
Doherty speaking about The
Libertines playing festivals, "I spoke to John Hassall, he's well up for it."
“[Gary] said he would [play the shows],” Doherty also added.
The singer also jokingly said that
if Barat wasn’t interested in reforming than he’d look for a replacement. "I'll put an advert in
NME: 'Carlos lookalike required',” he said.
Earlier this year, Doherty
revealed that The Libertines were offered a substantial
amount of money to headline Reading and Leeds 2009.
