Gabrielle Miller (Summer Sundae Weekender) Blog #3

United Kingdom United Kingdom | by Gabrielle Miller | 13 August 2009

So unfortunately the bright sunshine didn't continue today, but we've all still got our fingers crossed for the weekend. Anyway with the festival opening so soon a bit of rain wasn't going to dampen anyone's spirits.

Wednesday proved to be somewhat of a hectic day... There were traders arriving, we had the BBC down to check things out, The Garden is beginning to take shape, and it's all really starting to look festival like!

We've even managed to transform the press area from a plain white gazebo to a rather fetching interview space (it's amazing what some fairy lights can do).

It all starts kicking off on Thursday as the campers start arriving from 2pm, then it's off to Fringe Thursday - 9 official warm-up parties across the city.

We'll obviously all be having an early night ready for the real work to start on Friday morning... honestly.
