The View to headline Loopallu
United Kingdom | 10 August 2009
Scottish rockers The View are set to headline this year's Loopallu Festival.
The Dundee band will return to the event for the first time in three years to perform tracks from both of their albums and, if their T In The Park performance is anything to go by, a number of covers as well.
Other bands set to perform include The Lightning Seeds, The Dykeenies and Mumford And Sons as well as Kid British, Pearl And The Puppets and radio presenter Mark Radcliffe with his band The Family Mahone.
Speaking about the additions, festival organiser Robert Hicks said: “We’re over the moon landing another of Scotland’s biggest bands to headline one of its smallest festivals. It’s further proof that our size and location are our two biggest selling points to these bands, rather than seeming them as hindrances. On the back of Belladrum selling out and leaving lots of fans wanting more we expect Loopallu to sell out even faster than normal.”
Loopallu 2009 takes place on the shores of Loch Broom in the fishing village of Ullapool from 18-19 September.
The event may be the most remote festival site in mainland Britain but it still manages to hook some brilliant bands up to its site. All the acts perform in a large big tent and a wide selection of locally sourced food and drink will be on sale.
Tickets are on sale now priced at £70 for a weekend camping ticket with more prices available.
