McFly, Pixie Lott head up final V Festival additions

Bjorn Again, Asher Roth, more also join completed line-up

Boy band McFly will open the V Stage at Chelmsford on Saturday and Staffordshire on Sunday, while Abba tribute juggernaut Bjorn Again will do the reverse.

Joining them will be chart-topper Pixie Lott, Pennsylvania rapper Asher Roth, Aussie dance wizards Sneaky Soundsystem and LA rock stalwarts Carolina Liar who will all star in The Arena, while Exit Calm, Zarif and Mike Snow will play the Virgin Mobile Union.

Festival director Bob Angus said: “V Festival is delighted to add such a range of hot talent to our line up at this late stage. We now have over sixty acts confirmed to play at this year’s V Festival, and feel confident that all the acts on the bill genuinely offer a fresh and diverse mix of the best the current music scene has to offer!”

V Festival 2009 will take place in Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire from 22-23 August and is set to feature performances from MGMT, Lady Gaga and Elbow as well as headliners Oasis and The Killers.

Both festivals have sold out.
