Glasto Warm-Up - Final Line-up Revealed!

'Virtually Glastonbury' is shaping up to be one great night out! If this doesn't get you in the mood for
Glasto then we reckon your next stop must be a hole in the ground...
Throughout the evening
we now have nine (yes nine - count them!) live acts, a couple of DJ sets and some great poetry all crammed into the space
of six hours.
In the best spirit of every great festival we have had to contend with one or two changes to our
original line-up, but we can now confirm the final list of acts and bands who will be rocking The Dome (Tufnell Park)
on 23rd June and getting 500+ party people into the mood for Glastonbury Festival later in the week.
As
promised, we have members of Alabama 3 (who took the Pyramid Stage by storm at last year's
festival) headlining the night, under their alter ego The C*nts (In polite company they don't mind the alias
The Constables...) - so be prepared for something very different from Rob Spragg (AKA Larry Love)
and his partner in crime, the omnipresent Rantin' Richie. The C*nts are sandwiched between
DJ Sets from Eddie Real (also of Alabama 3) and the DV.ant Sound
System.
Underneath The C*nts we are pleased to bring you a late entry to the night's
bill, a great new band from Derby called Fine Line. Fine Line will be playing this year's Glastonbury Festival
after beating off stiff competition and winning themselves a place on the line-up... definitely an act to look out
for.
Before that, we'll be taking a trip to The Left Field. Here we'll be hearing from the night's
beneficiaries - MOJO (Miscarriage of Justice Organisation). Speakers will explain the role of MOJO
in fighting for the rights of people who have been wrongly punished under the British (in)Justice system. We'll also
have a prize draw where guest list party-goers will have the chance to win one of several great festival related prizes.
Our
Very Special Guest Artist for the night is The Levellers' Simon Friend. The Levellers headlined
Glastonbury back in 1994, and over 80,000 fans went mad with delight at what is still reputed to have been
the biggest Pyramid Stage show ever. Their continuing presence on the festival circuit is now almost as traditional as Glastonbury
itself!
Every Glastonbury also has its 'blast from the past', and so for 'Virtually
Glastonbury' we're really pleased to be able to bring you Then Jerico.
Followers of ITV's 'Reborn in the USA' will recognise the handsome face of Mark Shaw...the
guy who was too rock'n'roll for the show and who left during the first episode after a series of tour bus antics that were
just too much for the producers to handle.
Joanne Lee
is a new face on the circuit. A singer/songwriter in the vein of Beth Orton, Jo is lining up to
do a number of festival appearances this year, so 'Virtually Glastonbury' is pleased to have her along.
Our
early slots include a mixed bag of musical styles, with the first act on just after the doors open at 7-00pm... again, it
wouldn't be a festival without that sparsely populated opening act... but why not try to make the sun shine for the first
few bands by turning up before 7-30pm and giving them your support?
Ray
are a fine band who played Glastonbury in the Acoustic Tent last year, and their
debut album 'First Light' received excellent reviews. Shimmer
and MARS are currently working hard on the London gig
circuit - and both bands have very 'close' relationships with Virtual Festivals.
Drugdealercheerleader
are on the bill mainly because of the official Glasonbury Message Boards (run by Virtual
Festivals). As a regular on the boards, one of the band was quick off the mark when this whole event was first planned,
and a few eager e-mails later they had booked themselves a slot.
Resident poet and MC for the night is Dennis
(Just Dennis). If you like John Cooper Clarke then you'll love this man, who has been hailed as
one of our great up-and-coming urban wordsmiths.
'Virtually Glastonbury 2003' will, we hope,
become a regualar annual event. We're looking forward to seeing you there - and remember, dress for the Fest!
Tickets are only available from this web site (or on the door) and they're nearly
all sold out, so if you want to be part of the fun, click here to order yours now!
