The Brit, identified as Anthony Frisk, 22, passed away in the early hours of the morning, succumbing to the injuries sustained in the fall.
A spokesman for the FCO (Foreign Commonwealth Office) said: "We can confirm the death of a British national in Serbia following a fall at a music festival and we are providing consular assistance to the family."
The death, which was the first to occur at the festival since a drug overdose killed a 27 year old festival goer in 2005, marred a weekend of gigs and festivities which included artists like Carl Cox, Arctic Monkeys and The Prodigy.
Born as a student uprising against the political regime of Slobodan Milosevic, EXIT was voted Best European Festival 2007 at the UK Festival Awards.
The event celebrated it’s 10th Birthday in 2009, with thousands turning up to see exclusive back to back DJ sets and musical legends line up in the infamous Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad.
