Slayer to headline Wacken Rocks

Thrash legends to play only German shows at twin festivals

Slayer are set to play their only two German shows of the summer at Wacken Rocks Seaside and South.

The mighty foursome are down to headline the festivals and see out the end of the summer in one whack with highlights from their new album to boot.

Volbeat are set to join the thrash legends for both festivals, whose line-ups are now complete. The likes of Der W, Edguy and Suidakra will feature at both Seaside and South with a number of other high calibre names also lined-up.

Both events were postponed in May due to site problems with Wacken Rocks Seaside 2009 location. These have now been resolved with the festival set to go ahead once more in Aurich from 28 – 30 August.

Wacken Rocks South 2009 had no such problems but, with bands booked for both, had to follow its sister event in relinquishing its spot as a season opener. It will take place on the same weekend in Rieden-Kreuth.
