Mistress to play last ever show at Damnation

The show will be their 'last hurrah of blood, snot and spleen'

They join a bill that already boasts Therapy?, Stand-up Guy, Rotting Christ and A Storm Of Light, but the band are set to make their appearance the one to remember.

Speaking about the booking, frontman Dave Hunt said: "Well, we saw what happened with Carcass and we thought we'd cash in too!

"Nah, in reality it's just that we never had a 'last gig' and that left a sense of unfinished business. Our paragraph in the book of heavy metal should have ended with an exclamation mark, not a comma.

"The Damnation guys suggested a one-off and we thought fuck it, we'll have our final stand after all. The last grinding hurrah of blood, snot and spleen."

Damnation Festival 2009 will take place at Leeds University Union on 24 October.

Tickets will go on sale in May.
