Orbital, Flaming Lips for Electric Picnic

Basement Jaxx, Madness among first names

The Flaming Lips, Basement Jaxx and Madness are also set for the Irish boutique bash along with MGMT, Fleet Foxes and Klaxons who promised to play “every festival possible” this summer.

Disco legends Chic, local boys Bell X1 and Rodrigo Y Gabriela have also been announced by organisers alongside Seasick Steve, Lisa Hannigan, Explosions In The Sky and remix specialists 2 Many DJs.

Echo And The Bunnymen, The Sugarhill Gang, Roots Manuva, Simian Mobile Disco, Billy Bragg and Imelda May have also been confirmed.

Electric Picnic 2009 will take place at Stradbally Hall, County Laois, Ireland from 4-6 September.

Tickets will go on sale this Friday (17 April) at 9am.

The festival weill also see the return of the Body And Soul Village with a large array of holistic treatments, reiki, yoga and massage. There will also be comedy, spoken word, art, green crafts and family camping.
