Full Montreux Jazz programme released
Lauryn Hill, BB King, Lily Allen and more

Ex Fugees front-woman Lauryn Hill, blues guitarist
BB King and British pop princess Lily Allen are but three of the main names announced for the legendary festival which spans
a total of 16 days.
Black Eyed Peas, Grace Jones, Bloc Party
and Jeff Beck are set to join those three in the Auditorium Stravinksi and Miles
Davis Hall, the festival’s two major venues.
The likes of Alice Cooper, Marianne
Faithfull, Donna Summer, Seal and Herbie Hancock & Lang Lang
represent the old guard alongside a number of newer festival favourites in Simian Mobile Disco, Birdy
Nam Nam and Antony & The Johnsons.
As reported on VF Europe last week Chickenfoot,
the brand new rock outfit comprised of Joe Satriani, Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and two ex Van Halen members, takes
a top slot on the first Wednesday with back up from Steely Dan and Dave Matthews Band.
Also announced this morning are Klaxons, Die Arzte, Emily Loizeau
and Underworld who are set to be joined by Yuksek, Solomon Burke, Ray
Parker JR and many many more.

Montreux Jazz Festival 2009 is set to take place across various venues in the idyllic town of Montreux, Switzerland from 3 – 18 July.
Tickets
are available per venue and per day. Prices range from 65CHF to 300CHF with standing and seating tickets on sale for all.
Several multi-day passes are also on sale starting at 210CHF.

Many of the smaller venues offer a range of free music whilst
the town, which sits on the shores of Lake Geneva (Lac Leman) is traditionally covered with art installations, stalls and
other artefacts.
