The Scottish rockers, renowned for their live shows and such anthems as ‘Alive and Kicking’, top a mighty
cast-list to see out the weekend.
Front-man Jim Kerr had this to say: “We are very excited about playing
the Isle of Wight. This is the first time Simple Minds have played the festival, so as you can imagine, we’re really looking forward to it. We’ll
be performing songs from our new ‘Graffiti Soul’ album and some classics gems.”
Leeds quintet
Pigeon Detectives and Irish chart-toppers The Script have also been announced for the festival’s final
day, joining headliner Neil Young and alternative godfathers the Pixies who were previously confirmed.
The list of new names and indeed the bill for Sunday 14 June concludes with Welsh comedic-rappers Goldie Lookin' Chain who are pencilled in for a memorable set alongside Judy Collins and Arno Carstens.
This year's other
headliners are The Prodigy, Sterophonics and
Razorlight with the likes of Maximo Park, White Lies
and many more bands confirmed.
