The critically acclaimed African singer-songwriter will top the bill on the Saturday night.

Speaking about the announcement, festival director James Shepard said: "I’ve wanted Rokia to play Larmer Tree Festival for sometime, I feel her performance on the Saturday of the festival this year is a real coup especially at this extremely exciting time in her career.  She really is something special!"

Other names already confirmed include Jools Holland, Richard Thompson, Dreadzone, Babyhead, Edward II and many more.

Larmer Tree Festival 2009 will take place at Larmer Tree Gardens, Dorset from 15-19 July.

Tickets are on sale now starting at £115 for a three-day pass, £144 for a four-day ticket or £177 for a five-day wristband. Children and day passes are also available.

The family-friendly festival blends the its enchanting surroundings with an equally enchanting line-up.

Mixing nearly 70 blues, folk, world music, acoustic, reggae and roots acts of international, national and local acclaim, Larmer Tree has something for everyone.

The five-day event offers a wide array of workshops for children and adults, holistic therapies in a secret garden and eccentric street theatre, before culminating in a carnival procession on the final day.

Festival-goers can tailor make their experience by selecting a package ranging from one to five days. Day ticket holders are allowed to camp the night after the festivities.

Larmer Tree was voted Best Family Festival at last year’s UK Festival Awards.
